The coastal regions of Africa are endowed with indigenous wild fruit plants rich in nutritional and medicinal phytochemicals micronutrients. South African complement the diet health needs rural poor households by providing vital dietary nutrients remedies for various concerns, alleviating food insecurity. Milk plum, Natal custard apple, medlar found mainly provinces Africa. Studies have established that these good sources vitamins, essential elements, bioactive phytocompounds such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, terpenoids, which demonstrate significant antioxidant, antimicrobial anti-inflammatory activities. studied possess anti-epileptic, antiplasmodial, snake antivenom qualities. Here we highlight views different reports on ethnopharmacological relevance, phytochemistry, bioactivity selected plants.
